A tax deduction of up to $1.80 per square foot is available to owners or designers of new or existing commercial buildings that save at least 50% of the heating and cooling energy of a building that meets ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2001. Partial deductions of up to $.60 per square foot can be taken for measures affecting any one of three building systems: the building envelope, lighting, or heating and cooling systems that provide at least 1/3 of the 50% savings target. These tax deductions are available for systems "placed in service" from January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2013.

Carrier System Rebates

Q.)  What is the offer?
A.)
Consumers can receive up to a $1,200 rebate on a Carrier system or up to a $150 rebate on a Carrier furnace.  Note: For the Spring 2009 promotion, the maximum possible rebate is actually $1,950.  This possibility only occurs if a consumer purchases a system that provides a $1,100 rebate along with an Infinity Air Purifier that provides a $100 rebate, a Liquid Cooled Stand-by Power Unit that provides a $600 rebate, an ERV/HRV/EAC that each provide a $50 rebate, a humidifier that provides a $25 rebate, and a UV light that provides a $25 rebate.  Because this scenario is the exception, all advertising materials refer to a maximum rebate value of $1,200. Rebate amount will not be finalized until the rebate claim has been processed and approved.

Q.)  May I use this rebate for my commercial business or multifamily home?
A.)
No.  The Carrier "Cool Cash" promotion is designed for residential add-on replacement only.

Q.)  Can I have more than one rebate?
A.)  Yes.  You can only have more than one rebate if you have more than one system installed in your home.  Consumers who purchase multiple systems for their own household should use one rebate claim form per system.
