At Climate Heating & Cooling's HVAC division we design, install and service commercial and large residential systems. The systems range from simple, single zone, forced air to complicated, multi-zoned, custom programmed, DDC controlled systems. These systems often include multiple temperature water loops, radiant heat, humidification, water source heat pumps, snow melt and cooling towers.
We are primarily a design/build firm. This gives us the advantage of designing and installing our own integrated systems from start to finish.  We also service and maintain those systems over the long term.  We give our customers the opportunity to try new equipment and designs or use known equipment and layouts.  We have a mechanical engineering staff and computer draftspeople in house.

HVAC Design Engineer

The HVAC Design Engineer is a member of the Engineering Team.  Representative duties include:

• Create accurate design build HVAC projects.

• Ensure your entire project loads are completed properly using the company’s endorsed software Carrier H.A.P., for commercial work, Elite using the most current version pertaining to ACCA manual “J”.

• Understand Watt’s radiant for radiant floor and snow melt systems. In addition use IGSHPA standards for geothermal systems.

• Know the Massachusetts building code as it pertains to HVAC work and the company’s involvement. Utilize good engineering practices.

• Understand the Massachusetts permitting policy. Ensure all permits are properly filled out and jobs are inspected in accordance with State policies.

• Be responsible and meet monthly budgeted sales quotas. If there are unfinished estimates or projects that need to be completed then you as a member of engineering team are required to work the extra hours needed to complete them. Sales quotas must be met monthly either individually or by team.

• Complete projects in a timely manner. Be knowledgeable and understand the “rule of thumb” fundamentals for example, CFM per square ft., tons per sq. ft., BTU’s per sq. ft., installed cost per sq. ft., etc. These simple checks can save valuable time and resources.

Pipefitter / Boiler Technician

Job Description: 
  Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, and maintain piping and piping systems, fixtures, and equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, domestic water, sewer, industrial processing systems - on basis of knowledge of system operating and study of building plans or working drawings.
* Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
* Inspect work sites to determine presence of obstructions.
* Plan sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other maintenance workers.
* Thread pipe using threading machine.
* Bend pipe by hand or with pipe-bending machine.
* Assemble and install variety of metal and non metal pipe and pipe fitting; including those made copper, steel, and plastic.
* Join piping by means of threaded, caulked, wiped, soldered, brazed, fused or cemented joints.
* Use hand tools to secure pipe to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers.
* Test system for leaks by proper methods in pipes and observing gauges attached to pipes for indication of leaks.
* Perform other job related duties, as assigned.
* Direct repair personnel, as assigned.
* Must possess the ability to read and understand blueprints and sketches.
* Knowledge and experience of tools, equipment, and machinery related to the pipefitting trade.

Required Skills
* Journeyman steam fitter or plumbers license required.
* Must obtain within one year and maintain back flow prevention testing and maintenance certification.
* Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.

HVAC Service Technician

At Climate Heating and Cooling we design, install and service commercial and large residential systems.  The systems range from simple, single zone, forced air to complicated, multi-zoned, custom programmed, DDC controlled, systems.  These systems often include multiple temperature water loops, radiant heat, humidification, water source heat pumps, snow melt and cooling towers.

Then, servicing and maintaining those systems over the long term.  We give our customers the opportunity to try new equipment and designs or use known equipment and layouts.  We have mechanical engineers and computer draftsmen in house.

As an HVAC technician with Climate you will have the opportunity to work alone and on a team.  You will be responsible for systems, control wiring, startup and burn in, troubleshooting/repair, maintenance and long term operation.  You will have input about system design and installation.  We count on you to make sure our systems work and the customers are satisfied.  With Climate you will have the opportunity to build an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the HVAC industry.

All Technicians must have their EPA certification certificate and a valid Massachusetts drivers license.  All must be able to lift at least 50 lbs in the course of performing his or her duties.  Experience in both residential and commercial equipment is very helpful but we have openings at all skill levels.  Our standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.  Once your knowledge and experience permits, we expect you to join Climate's other Service technicians in our emergency after hours Service rotation.  Currently you are on call one week then off for four weeks.  Climate pays on call pay and overtime after 40 regular hours worked.  We are an employee orientated company.  We promote from within and we believe our benefits to be amongst the best in our industry
